Discovering di Obereggen
Nova Ponente is a small town in the Val d’Ega valley, in Alto Adige, which affords a wonderful panorama of the Dolomites, thanks to its location on the plateau of mount Regolo. For mountain-lovers it really is a magical place, both in winter and summer. Obereggen is a gorgeous panoramic hamlet at an altitude of 1,550 metres, far from the chaos and noise of the city, located at the foot of Monte Latemar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In winter it’s a very popular destination because of its 48 kilometres of ski slopes and the 18 modern ski lifts in the Latemar-Obereggen ski district. In summer you can occupy yourself with numerous outdoor activities, from hiking and mountain biking in the woods, to rock climbing and visiting the “malghe” chalets. Or you can go to the evocative Lake Caldaro and swim among the vineyards. Do you want to go to Bolzano? It’s just a 20-minute drive away.
