Pinocchio to colour

pinocchio en vacance chez Italy Family Hotels "Once upon a time there was" -"A king!" - my little readers will immediately say. "No, children, you are mistaken. Once upon a time there was a piece of wood.".This is the beginnig of Collodi's most famous book, which talks of a piece of wood and how it began a child, named Pinocchio by his lovely father, Geppetto.

One day, skipping his class, Pinocchio has been tempted by the “Puppet show”, so he swapped his book with money, to pay the ticket and get in. Our poor friend still did not know that his trip would have been either funny, but also pitifull and sad… He had never listened to the talking cricket, preferring rather some fun to discipline and education.

But, what if Pinocchio were born in 2000 instead of in the 19th century… what would have he done? Maybe, he would have played tennis… or with pokemons… or with the playstation, instead of going to the puppet show… Well, let’s guess!

One morning Pinocchio does not really feel like going to school, so he asks mom and dad to stay home, for playng without worring! His new parents are way much wiser than Geppetto, so they promise that, if he’s going to behave good with no cheating school, they woulg get him on holiday! In fact, the following weekend, they keep their promise and, after packing, they drive the puppet out of the city. They drive, and drive and drive and Pinocchio sees the town fading away, the landscape changing and hills turning first into lowland, and then into sand… so, since he is curious, he asks about all that travelling.
“We are gonna take you to the beach”, says his dad.
“What for?”, asks Pinocchio who had never seen the sea, yet, feeling curious but also a little bit scared of. Then his mom explains what the sea is… promising she would teach him how to swim, ensuring him that wood, everyone knows, does not sink. Also, she would have shown him how to play soccer, football and so on… sure that, once there, he would have met many other kids and see many funny things, that would have amused him!
That is because those far-seeing parents booked one of the many Italy Family Hotels: a Consortium of hotels, each of which has tought to personalised solutions, managed by high quality standards and strong focus on Families' needs.

In fact, once there, Pinocchio rushes down to the miniclub, while mom and dad get tanned, relaxing on the beach, because yheir son has been in the company of the baby-sitter (the contemporary “talking-cricket), who introduces him to games and education, withouth bothering… but in funny ways!
They do together homework for the following week, studying in the library of the hotel, to met late in the afternoon, mom and dad.
For dinner, Pinocchio eats his meal without questioning, playing with other children, tank to the “Mangio, Gioco e mi Diverto” (I eat, I play and I Have Fun): a particolar meal for kids, with many towels to be coloured! Afterdinner, looking for the Playing-room Pinocchio sees the “Biberoneria” (a place for feeding newborns will say his mom), forgetting, for a few days, school.

It is to say that weekends never last too long… but Pinocchio, encouraged and supported by the Family Hotels’ staff, has learnt a lot, just like not to be attracted the temptation of the “toys country" being able, at the same time, to have fun… and realizing, now that he has just met many of them, who are real friends or not, as the“tricking Fox and Cat”.
All the way home Pinocchio, excited for the wonderfull experience and with his joyfull heart, talks a lot exchanging opinions with his parents about the great trip, then falling asleep, little by little, rolled by the car and staring at the landscape changing… …once back home, tho, when mom awakes him, he sees something else changed, ...maybe this is the best change: his nose got shorter, his hair became blonde and curly and his skin, which was once hard wood, smooth as silk… the puppet hardly believes it, but it is not a puppet anymore… he became a real, beautiful child!
