Amusement Parks in Italy

parco divertimenti italiaItaly’s second largest amusement park is on Lake Garda, the Gardaland. It offers many attractions for younger and older children and covers 46 hectares with 38 attractions and 4 theme villages.

The many spectacular rides are the highlight of the park. Among these is Europe’s largest Ferris wheel, numerous roller coasters some which drive through water spray, perilous ones with loopings or ones that drive in the dark. Daily attractions include parades and shows like the Police School Stunt Show and the Fairy Tale Shows with the large figures of the park. An example of a new attraction is the Fuga da Atlantide. The illusion of a journey through Atlantis is perfect along the 700 metre long trip in Atlantis boats. Artificial cliffs, pillars, ruins, boulders, dolphins, sea monsters, ocean caves and an eleven metre tall wrathful Neptune complete the picture.

It is easy to reach the neighbouring water park Mirabilandia Beach from Gardaland. Here you will find numerous swimming pools and of course a selection of water slides such as the “Rio Diablo”, a roller coaster like water slide. A Sealife opened in Gardaland in 2008 that gives the children a glimpse into the fascination of underwater animal life and a dolphin show. (Additional zoos here Link a Zoo)

Italia in miniatura/ Italy in Miniature
Ideal for those who do not have the time for a trip through all of Italy: Italy in Miniature. Circa 270 miniature Italian and European buildings are shown on 85,000 square meters. The scale is either 1:25 or 1:50. It is a pleasure to see various Italian places and houses in miniature. The Austrian Viennese Belvedere and Germany’s Neuschwanstein castles are also shown. The recreated Venice on a scale of 1:5 is spectacular.

Fiabilandia
A fairy tale park for children big and small near Rimini. The park boasts many rides such as a merry-go-round and a roller coaster for small children. A train drives through the entire grounds, a paddle steam boat on the lake. Your children can climb on Peter Pan’s pirate ship, visit an Indian village or view a 100 year old Mediterranean farmhouse. Shows such as a Wild West Show, Water Games or a Circus with clowns and acrobats are included in the admission. There is also a small animal zoo, as exotarium and a planetarium.
