Prenatal Music Therapy

note musicaliBum bum… sc sc… Twinkle twinkle… drin drin…
We have broadcasted the musical dialogue, chaotic con brio, "In uterine belly", performed by  "The visceral maternal Orchestra" and masterfully directed by the prenatal music therapy.

Joking aside, it is true that the fetus in the belly lives some very intense sound and rhythmic experiences, and that the most stimulated sense is precisely the hearing.
Equally true is that the prenatal music therapy makes of the maternal singing and of the music listening the main instruments to act positively on the psyche of the mother, on the learning of the fetus, and on the relationship between them.
While it is easy to perceive the beneficial influence of music (relaxing and reassuring) on the pregnant woman, it is less immediate to imagine how positive is the influence on the unborn child.
The sound stimuli proposed to the unborn child from the sixth-seventh month of pregnancy affect the nervous system, developing memorization and concentration.
As regards the process of attachment, the communication between mother and son becomes deeper, and the emotional bond consolidates with great advantage for the future relationship.
The benefits would be maximum by extending the experience with the post-partum musicotherapy, with sessions that involve the entire family in games of voice, movements and sounds.
At that point music also interferes on the rhythmicity of the cycles of sleep and food for children, and make them sociable, creative and more willing to listen.
While with lullabies certain benefits were only supposable, the musicotherapy draws scientific basis from the neurophysiology, that has investigated the links between music and cognitive development.
Listening to the Beethoven's Ninth Symphony during pregnancy will not make of the unborn child the new von Karajan, and singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" will not stake a firm claim on the triumph at the contest for singing children.
But we of Italy Family Hotels will be pleased to hear our little guests engaged in vocalises and instrumental improvisations, because it seems that the G clef opens not only the pentagram but extraordinary and infinite possibilities.
