Influenza A is very similar to a normal seasonal flu. Its scientific name is Influenza A subtype H1N1. This is a variant of flu that normally affects populations of pigs, but in this case, the mutated virus has also infected humans.
The first cases of animal -man infection took place in Mexico, thus spreading out all over the world.
The symptoms are very similar to the flu that we all know: a sudden high fever, even above 38 degrees, strong throat ache, cough, chills and joint pain.
It is transmitted by air through sneezing and coughing, but also with the contact on contaminated materials and surfaces.
The classic standards in hygiene can help to limit its rapidly spread in schools and public places:
- Wash your hands often
- Sneezing, covering his mouth
- Cough, covering his mouth
- Throw away tissues after you blow your nose
- Do not exchange cutlery, plates, napkins, glasses
- Do not put pens or other objects in the mouth
- Stay at home since the first symptoms of influenza.
Don't panic!
