Water |
|
- carries nutrients and discards; - is involved in the maintaining of the thermic balance. Between the introduced water and the lost one there always must be equilibrium, and here the kidneys play a key role. We introduce water with drinks and certain foods (cow's milk, meat, bread, rice, pasta, fruit, vegetables, egg). A small amount is produced within the body by the demolition of carbohydrates , lipids and proteins . Under normal circumstances, the minimum requirement of water in a person of middle size is 1-1,2 liters a day. With physical activity this need increases. In relation to a higher body surface, the child has a need of water proportionately bigger. Water is discharged through urine, faeces, sweat, water vapor. Normally an adult eliminates 2-2,5 liters of water every day. If water losses are not reintegrated, body risks dehydration, and consequently physical weakness (also minerals that are dissolved in it must be reintegrated!). An excess of water, however, expands the stomach, increases cellulite; stresses the kidneys and causes an increase in pressure. Two glasses of water in the morning favors a perfect balance of water and, if taken before meals, calm hunger. It is better not to drink, however, during meals. Among the various waters on the market, waters low in mineral content are recommended for their diuretic action. Italy Family Hotels will offer you a big choice of waters, while our animators will entertain you with a verry funny sketch, by Achille Campanile, named “Acqua minerale” (mineral water). arininchi 26/09/2008
